Here are a few interesting facts about Propane:

Propane is a byproduct of both natural gas processing and crude oil refining.
Its chemical formula is C₃H₈ — three carbon atoms and eight hydrogen atoms.
Propane becomes a liquid under moderate pressure, which makes it easy to store in portable tanks.
It’s commonly used for home heating, grilling, forklifts, camping stoves, and backup generators.
Propane burns cleaner than gasoline or coal, producing fewer particulates and lower carbon emissions.
The fuel itself is naturally odorless. Companies add a sulfur-like scent (often compared to rotten eggs) so leaks are easy to detect.
Propane can still vaporize and work in very cold temperatures where some other fuels struggle.
In the U.S., propane is sometimes called “LP gas,” short for liquefied petroleum gas.
Blue flames from a propane appliance usually indicate efficient combustion.
A standard backyard grill propane tank typically holds about 20 pounds of propane.
