Many of you have seen the argument on all social media platforms over the last couple of days following the recent school shootings——Why does the U.S. not implement gun laws? Why aren’t teachers armed? How can we keep our schools safe?

We want to reach out to the public and spark a discussion about such arguments, and also ask you all a question, after we provide some details.

The Armed Private Security Industry is at a peak in the United States, employing over 2 million full-time officers.

Many of these employees are not granted arrest powers due to State Regulations, & have been refused access to State Funded Training, but are utilized by apartment complexes, private schools, home owners associations, clubs, special events, plants, malls, shopping centers, housing authorities, etc etc.

This information is leading up to the intended topic of conversation;

Why not utilize these officers in schools? Provide them access to training, regulate hiring, and give more authority?

Prime example: Elite Patrol has over 15 full time, part time, & on call officers, many whom of which are sworn law enforcement, retired & active. That’s enough officers to man 7 schools, at all times.

We want to hear your opinion on why and why not this would be a preventative measure to decreasing gun violence in schools.

Today we want to say thank you to Sergeant Andrew Ramey for his 1 year of dedicated service to Elite Patrol and it’s clients. Sergeant Ramey began employment at Elite Patrol on February 3rd, 2017, as a mobile patrol officer.

Within the last year, Ramey was promoted to Head Training Coordinator, and later promoted to Sergeant of Operations. He now oversees all patrol operations as well is the initial point of contact in all client relations. At 21 years old, Ramey is the youngest officer in the history of Elite to hold a supervisor position.

Ramey is a soon to be graduate of Jefferson County Sheriffs Office Training Academy where he serves as Chaplain of his class.
Ramey also attended Shelton State Community College, Calhoun Community College and later transferred to Faulkner University where he focused his education on Criminal Justice and Counseling Psychology.

During his time as Head Training Coordinator & Sergeant, Ramey has taken effective measures in reconstructing and implementing a new Hiring Process and Officer Training Program that includes first hand field training on: Legal Issues, Radio Communication, Officer Safety, Ethics and Professionalism, Uniform neatness, Officer/Violator Contact, and Mobile Patrol Techniques.

On behalf of Elite Patrol, we want to say thank you! Keep up the hard work!
