Wrapped up with one final session this morning: International HR: Lessons from a Life and Career Spent Abroad.

The audience was highly engaged and brought thoughtful questions that made for a meaningful discussion. We spent time exploring how culture, communication, and empathy influence the way we lead across borders and support employees around the world.

One lesson has remained constant throughout my career: organizations achieve more when people are treated as more than a resource. When employees feel valued and supported, the impact reaches far beyond the workplace.

Ending the conference with a book signing for The Leadership Attitude: Inspiring Success Through Authenticity and Passion was the perfect way to conclude my SHRM26 experience.

Thank you, shrmofficial, for the opportunity to be part of this incredible event. I am leaving with new connections and a deep appreciation for the HR professionals who are shaping the future of work every day.

Until next year!

What an incredible start to SHRM26!

Today, I had the privilege of leading two spotlight sessions focused on one of my greatest passions—helping organizations navigate global growth while staying deeply connected to their people.

This morning, we explored “Global Human Resources Strategy: Leading People Across Borders with Purpose.” Together, we discussed how global leadership goes far beyond policies—it’s about building trust, understanding cultural nuance, and leading with clarity and care. With so many organizations operating across borders, the ability to align people strategy with business goals has never been more critical.

Later this afternoon, I shared my journey in “Employer of Record (EOR) Models: Helping Companies Expand Across Borders.” We unpacked how EOR solutions can simplify global expansion while maintaining compliance and supporting employees with intention. It was rewarding to dive into both the opportunities and the real-world challenges organizations face when scaling internationally.

Across both sessions, one theme stood out clearly…People-first leadership is the foundation of successful global business.

Thank you to everyone who joined, shared insights, and asked thoughtful questions. Your engagement made these conversations even more meaningful.

Looking forward to continuing the discussions at tomorrow at SHRM26!

The strongest leaders I’ve known weren’t focused on being impressive. They were focused on being useful. They listened carefully. They stayed calm during uncertainty. They made people feel supported instead of managed.

That kind of leadership creates trust — and trust is what holds organizations together when pressure rises.

Early in my career, I believed leadership meant proving myself constantly. Over time, I realized the leaders people remember most are the ones who create environments where others can grow, contribute, and succeed.

Leadership is not about control. It’s about stewardship.
And the organizations that understand that will always have the strongest cultures.

Gratitude is one of the most overlooked leadership tools.

Gratitude fuels positivity, engagement, and trust.

Acknowledging effort, achievements, and everyday contributions builds morale and connection. Leaders who practice gratitude model respect and inspire loyalty.

Gratitude doesn’t just improve culture—it sustains it.

The best results don’t come from working alone. Collaboration amplifies results and builds stronger teams.

Leaders who foster collaboration leverage diverse perspectives, create shared ownership, and achieve outcomes greater than any individual could alone.

The strongest teams are built on shared success, not individual wins.

Leadership doesn’t fail because of a lack of knowledge—it fails because of a lack of connection.

Leadership is not just about what you know—it’s about how you lead people.

In The Leadership Attitude, I share lessons learned over decades of global leadership—lessons about moving from leading with logic alone to leading with both the head and the heart.

Because leadership is not built on processes alone. It’s built on trust, understanding, and the ability to truly connect with people.

The leaders who create lasting impact are the ones who learn how to do both.

The Leadership Attitude is for those who want to lead differently—and lead better.

Most organizations don’t have a talent problem—they have a leadership alignment problem.

Leadership today requires more than strategy—it requires connection.

Organizations don’t struggle because they lack capable people. They struggle because communication breaks down, trust erodes, and teams lose alignment in the face of change.

Through my keynote sessions, I work with leaders and teams to strengthen:
• Communication and trust
• Leadership under pressure and change
• Alignment across teams and functions
• The development of informal leaders

These are not theoretical concepts. They are lessons shaped by decades of global leadership experience and real-world application.

When leaders learn to connect, communicate, and lead with both the head and the heart, everything changes.

On Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to this country.

Their sacrifice is carried not only in history, but through the families, communities, and fellow service members who continue to live with that loss each day.

At PZI, the military community is deeply personal to us. It shapes our perspective, strengthens our purpose, and reinforces our commitment to supporting those who serve and the families who stand beside them.

Today, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and honor the legacy they leave behind.
