It's easy to feel like a strong leader when the plan is working, the team is aligned, and the results are coming in. The real test often comes when none of those things are true. Some of the most important lessons I've learned came during seasons when I didn't have a clear answer and had to listen more carefully, make difficult decisions, and sometimes admit that we needed to pivot and change the original plan.
Leadership isn't about eliminating uncertainty for everyone around you. There will be times when you can't provide every answer or predict exactly what comes next. What you can provide is consistency, open communication, and a sense of trust that gives people confidence to keep moving forward with you. Your team doesn't need you to know everything; they need to know they can trust you when you don't.
