Today, T. Bell Logging was honored to team up with Madison County Wood Products to support a cause that means a great deal to our industry and our family. Madison County Wood Products generously matched the donation from this load of logs to Log A Load for Kids in memory of my dad, Tom Bell.

For those unfamiliar, Log A Load for Kids is a program supported by loggers, mills, and forestry professionals that raises money for children’s hospitals and children’s charities. It is a way for those in the forest products industry to give back and make a difference in the lives of children and families in need.

Dad spent more than 65 years in the logging industry and dedicated his life to hard work, family, and helping others whenever he could. We can’t think of a better way to honor his memory than by supporting a program that helps children and families while bringing together the industry he loved so much.

A sincere thank you to Madison County Wood Products for matching this donation and helping us celebrate his legacy. His boots may be empty, but the impact he made on our family, our community, and the logging industry will continue for generations.Madison County Wood Products

Dropping walnut trees this time of year is time-consuming. We come in and drop them and have to leave the tree tops in them for at least seven days before getting them out of the woods. This process draws the sap and moisture out of the tree which prevents the bark from slipping on the tree. It takes a little extra time but will have a better outcome on sale day.

Today dad hauled his last load of logs. He was my inspiration to keep his logging tradition alive, after he worked in the timber for nearly 70 years. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with him every day for over 20 years. He will definitely be missed in the timber. His knowledge and legacy will continue.
