🔐 3 Cybersecurity Measures Every Church Should Implement Immediately

You do not have to wait for a cyberattack to strengthen your church’s security. Start with the basics that can make a meaningful difference.

🛡️ 1. Enable Multi Factor Authentication
Use multi factor authentication and passkeys wherever possible, especially for church email, computers, network access, and other important accounts.

💾 2. Verify Your Backups
If your church uses cloud based church management software, ask the provider how your data is backed up, how often backups occur, and how quickly your information can be restored.

Do not simply assume your backups work. Test them.

🎓 3. Train Your Staff
Your technology is only as strong as the people using it. Regular cybersecurity awareness training can help staff recognize phishing attempts, suspicious activity, and other common threats.

The goal is simple: protect your systems, protect your information, and prepare your people.

Cybersecurity is not just an IT responsibility. It is part of responsible church leadership and stewardship.
