Feeder cattle markets slowed on Good Friday, with receipts down 36% from the previous week, but prices remained extremely strong, posting some of the highest levels seen all week. Lightweight calves led the way, with 300β399 lb steers at Verdigre, NE bringing $655.00, while 400β499 lb steers at Mankato, KS sold for $615.00 and 500β599 lb steers at the same location reached $555.00. Midweight cattle followed with 600β699 lb steers at Manhattan, KS bringing $480.00 and 700β799 lb steers at Lexington, NE at $429.25. Heavier feeders also traded at strong levels, with 800β899 lb steers at Huron, SD bringing $386.50, 900β999 lb steers at Mankato, KS at $356.50, and 1,000β1,099 lb steers at Mankato, KS reaching $332.00.
