Guadalupe County has generated documented law enforcement activity involving children at a sustained and serious level. In July 2026, the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office ICAC Unit executed a search warrant at a Seguin address following a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children — one person was arrested on charges involving online content targeting children. In March 2026, a multi-agency investigation resulted in two arrests in Marion — just outside Seguin on Lower Seguin Road — on allegations including documented criminal offenses involving a minor and trafficking activity, with weapons and stolen property seized from the property. In September 2025, the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office led a multi-agency joint enforcement operation in Schertz, Guadalupe County — Operation Rolling Thunder — that produced 16 arrests, with seven facing charges for targeting minors, three victims identified, and one missing juvenile recovered. That operation brought together more than ten law enforcement agencies, including federal partners. The GCSO is an active member of the Texas Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Meanwhile, in the broader San Antonio metro area — Bexar County, immediately adjacent to Guadalupe County — Operation Lightning Bug II, conducted August 10–31, 2026, by the U.S. Marshals Service alongside SAPD, BCSO, Texas DPS, and federal partners, located or recovered 45 missing and endangered children, executed 20 warrants, and identified new regional enforcement leads. One 15-year-old girl recovered in San Antonio during that operation was identified as a victim of documented exploitation. The picture Guadalupe County and its surrounding region have drawn is not abstract.
