Did you know? The law regarding notices to terminate farm and pastureland tenancies has specific timing requirements. Here's what you need to know:

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: For most cases, you must give written notice at least 30 days before March 1st, with the tenancy ending on that date.
𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: If you give notice after a fall seeded grain crop has been planted, the tenancy for that portion of the land doesn't end until after harvest or August 1st, whichever comes first.
𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬: If you give notice after the 30-day deadline but before a fall crop is planted, the tenancy for that portion of the land doesn't end until after harvest the following year or August 1st of that year.
𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐭𝐨-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬: If your tenant stays past the end date of a written lease, they become a year-to-year tenant. To end the tenancy, you must give written notice at least 30 days before the same day and month as the original lease ending date.

Remember, these are just general guidelines. It's always best to consult with a lawyer or land management professional to ensure you're following the specific laws and regulations in your area.
