☠️ DISCLAIMER ☠️

I am not a mold remediation professional.

I AM a Cape Cod native with 20+ years of professional cleaning experience, trained in safe cleaning practices, proper PPE, cross-contamination prevention, and advanced knowledge in how different products and cleaning methods interact with the surfaces we’re treating.

After two decades of cleaning Cape Cod homes, I can tell you one thing — Cape Cod bathrooms LOVE to grow mold.

Our coastal humidity + warm showers + poor ventilation + older homes + damp spaces that never fully dry = basically a mold vacation rental.

And when most people see mold, they grab the bleach and start scrubbing.

🚫 That isn’t the answer. Bleach FEEDS mold and causes a whole other set of issues!

Mold care is very different from routine house cleaning.

Disturbing mold can release spores into the air, porous materials can harbor growth below the surface, and simply making the visible discoloration disappear doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve addressed the underlying problem.

That’s also why your regular house cleaner may tell you, “I’m not touching that”.

Because cleaners who actually understand mold know that it’s not something you just attack without a plan or proper protection for them and for you.

For small amounts of surface growth on appropriate, cleanable surfaces, my team may use products such as white vinegar and 3% hydrogen peroxide. But recurring, extensive, hidden, or porous-material mold isn’t something we simply spray and scrub—significant, recurring, hidden, or widespread mold growth belongs in the hands of a qualified mold remediation professional.
