DAY 38/90 — WHAT'S THE FIRST STEP?
Bestie, imagine wanting to start something new but not knowing where to begin.
You start asking questions. You search for information. You listen to different people, and before you know it, you're even more confused than when you started!
I've learned that when exploring a business, you don't have to rush into making a decision. You need to understand what you're considering first.
Here are 5 practical steps I encourage anyone to take:
1. Understand the business model.
What exactly does the business involve? How does it work, and what would your role be?
2. Know what is required.
Find out the startup costs, tools, training, time commitment, and skills you may need.
3. Understand how the business operates.
Don't just focus on what people say is possible. Learn the actual process behind the business.
4. Ask questions.
Speak to someone knowledgeable, clarify what you don't understand, and don't be afraid to ask the difficult questions.
5. Decide based on information, not pressure.
Take your time to evaluate whether the business fits your goals, responsibilities, and current situation.
When I began exploring digital entrepreneurship, I had things to learn, too. I didn't need to know everything on day one, but I needed to be willing to learn and understand the process.
Remember this: Clarity comes from learning, not guessing.
You don't have to have all the answers today. Start by asking the right questions.
Let's talk! If you were exploring a new business today, what would be the FIRST question you'd ask?
Drop your answer in the comments. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
