I also believed that if I worked harder, if I proved myself to that employer or client, that they would see the value I had to offer and would reward me for it.

I was over delivering and became super useful but my financials weren’t reflecting what I knew I deserved.

I sat around hoping things would get better but that just doesn’t really happen.

Because nothing changes until it changes.

I had to establish boundaries, I had to say no more, I had to stop being on call, as if everyone was entitled to impose on my time.

I had to become the woman who stopped giving away every bit of herself to make everyone happy.
