Although this presentation was made at the Washington Oregon Potato Conference Ag Innovation Session earlier this year, this irrigation invention can also be used in sugarbeets. Monty Teeter of Dragon-Line shares information on the benefits of this irrigation system. His presentation is titled, "Boosting Pivot Efficiency With Mobile Drip Irrigation. Later in the presentation, at about 20 minutes, Washington State University's Jacob Meeuwsen presents his research information on the mobile drip irrigation system.

A sugarbeet grower in Europe designed a machine to help with the problem of w**ds in his crop. Earlier this year, at the Washington Oregon Potato Conference, which always has some interesting presentations during its Ag Innovation Session, Blake Farris, the regional pre-sales manager for Ecorobotix talked about the latest version of that equipment. The title of his presentation was AI-Powered Innovations In Ag Spraying.

Even if you're not involved in the ag industry, you've heard of the MAHA movement. Beth Johnson does a great job of explaining the movement, the players behind it and what it means for agriculture. Her presentation took place at the Idaho Grower Shippers Association annual meeting in late August.

Dr. Jeff Miller of Miller Research LLC made a presentation at this year's Idaho Grower Shippers Association convention titled, "How Much Pesticide Is On My Plate?" We've heard Dr. Miller share this presentation before but it bears repeating as the topic touches most all growers, regardless of crop. Many fruits and vegetables are being vilified as being part of the Dirty Dozen by an organization as Dr. Miller details.

Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke talked about the recent water mitigation talks that took place in the state over the past several months. Water issues, specifically irrigation issues, have been a hot topic in Idaho for the past couple of years. Bedke's presentation took place at this year's Idaho Grower Shippers Association annual meeting.

Specifically, the panel discussed the implications of the strategies being developed by EPA to bring pesticide registrations into compliance and what that will mean to your use of key pesticides as a part of your management strategy in potato production.

One presentation was at a sugarbeet meeting, one (a panel discussion) was at the National Potato Council Potato Expo and the third at the Washington Oregon Potato Conference. Here is the one from the Washington Oregon Potato Conference. Titled "Response to EPA Rulings Regarding Pesticide Use in Consideration of the Endangered Species Act," this presentation was given by Abigail Nickelson from the Washington State Department of Agriculture. In a presentation titled, "Glyphosate: Terrific Tool With A Bad Rap," Dr. Jeff Miller, Miller Research LLC, provides some interesting and pertinent information on the w**d killer. Dr. Miller provided this information at this year's National Potato Council Potato Expo. Although it was presented at a potato meeting, it has some great information for growers and others in the sugarbeet industry.

There were a lot of things said and learned at this year's American Sugarbeet Growers Association annual meeting. Some of the speakers highlighted the challenges facing our industry. But ASGA Executive Vice President Luther Markwart wrapped up the meeting with some overwhelming words of encouragement and hope. Here is what he said at the end of his remarks.
