We are proud to announce that we have received a LUCAS mechanical chest compression device, a critical piece of equipment that will significantly enhance patient care during cardiac arrest emergencies.

This advanced device delivers consistent, high-quality chest compressions, allowing our responders to focus on airway management, medications, and other critical life-saving interventions.

This purchase was made possible through the generous support of our funding partners and community donors:

• $10,000: Roundhouse Foundation
• $7,400: Siletz Tribe
• $2,500: Private Donors

Thank you for standing behind your fire district and helping us uphold our core values: Integrity, Compassion, and Dedication.

Today, we honor and remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose words and actions continue to inspire service, compassion, and unity.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In the fire service, this question is at the heart of everything we do. Every call we respond to, every hour of training we complete, and every moment we stand ready is guided by our core values of Integrity, Compassion, and Dedication. We show up on what may be the worst day of someone’s life with the purpose of protecting, helping, and serving our community without hesitation.

We honor Dr. King’s legacy by answering his question through our actions. Integrity in how we serve, compassion in how we care for others, and dedication to the safety and well-being of our community are what connect his message to the mission of the fire service. We are proud to serve with purpose and commitment, today and every day.

⚠️Attention Detroit land owners and residents:

There is a team from the Oregon State Fire Marshal's office in town today and tomorrow that will be actively performing damage assessments of houses, RVs, and vehicles that were impacted by the windstorm.

They will be in mostly unmarked government vehicles and will be wearing black OSFM uniforms. You may see them out taking pictures of properties. Please welcome them and give them space as they inspect the damage to properties around town.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through this disaster response.

Our crews have spent much of the day working throughout the community to clear downed trees and debris from roadways and to assess structures for storm-related damage. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we continue these efforts.

There are hundreds of downed trees across Detroit and the surrounding areas from last night’s storm. A second storm is forecast to move in tonight and is expected to be just as strong, if not stronger. We encourage residents and visitors to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

Please do not call 911 unless there is an immediate threat to life, or if you see fire. Stay well clear of all downed power lines and assume they are energized. Your awareness and caution help keep both the community and our responders safe.

We also want to give a big shout-out to the Detroit Lake Foundation for providing Subway sandwiches to all of the first responders who were working today! Thank you!
