Sometimes the body tells us something isn’t right long before we have the words for it.

In this Mandible Mondays conversation, we’re joined by Danica Parkin / Pila?sis (Sinixt / Synackstx)—a doula and Family Nurse Practitioner working in pediatric primary care, and founder of həłmxiłp Indigenous Birth Justice.

Together, we’ll gently explore autoimmune conditions and orthostatic intolerance—what they can look like, how symptoms may show up in everyday life, and how they can sometimes be connected.
This is not about overwhelm or medical jargon. It’s about:
• recognizing what your body may be communicating
• understanding common but often missed symptoms
• and learning simple ways to better advocate for yourself in healthcare spaces

A grounded, accessible conversation for anyone who has ever thought: “Something doesn’t feel right, but I can’t explain it.”
