Emily harvested this beautiful Black Impala in South Africa and she was excited to have us do a full body mount of him. That is, until the day we received the call from the tanner, telling us the hair had slipped in big stripes down both sides, and the cape was unuseable. After discussing it with Emily, she decided to have them send us the hide anyways for craft purposes or whatever she would like to do with it. After receiving the hide, I pulled it out just wondering if I could pull it off as a shoulder mount or pedestal mount. Low and behold, after several days of modifications to the manikin and cutting patches of bare skin out and hours of sewing I think I pulled it off. I'd like to present what Emily has started calling, "Henry the Hopeless Hide."
