What does a home look like through the eyes of an Occupational Therapist?
When I do a Home Assessment, I’m not just looking for grab bars, rugs, or fall hazards. I’m looking at the person—how they move, how they complete everyday activities, what has changed, and whether their home is still supporting their independence.
We talk about Home Assessments with families often, so I wrote this blog to explain what I see through the eyes of an OT—and why small changes can sometimes tell us much more than we realize.
