Good time to introduce our 40tb nrc rollback! This gives us a 40k lb payload! We are still looking for the correct fit to add a class A driver if you applied and still interested apply again if you are on the edge. This is a well paid position with plenty of overtime. We haven't shared much about the shop lately, but here are three ongoing projects. A Duramax LML engine rebuild, a Cummins flat tappet conversion, and an LBZ Duramax transmission upgrade.

Today was a solid 2.5 call kind of day… because apparently we like to keep things interesting 😎

Call #215 – 6:18 AM
Nothing like starting the morning with a little adrenaline instead of coffee. Crews responded to a vehicle accident on the ramp from Watts Hill to Route 422 East (Ebensburg exit). Two vehicles decided to meet in a classic T-bone style at the bottom of the hill.

Good news:
• No injuries
• No entrapment
• No confinement

Just some debris, fluids on the roadway, and a reminder that gravity + hills + intersections = bad decisions. One lane of traffic was maintained while crews cleaned up. Citizens’ Ambulance checked out both drivers (no transports), PSP handled the scene, and Martin Diesel Repair & Towing handled the tow and as always quickly restored traffic to normal and cleaned up the mess. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Call #216 – 10:26 AM
Crews were dispatched to a senior living facility in White Township for what we professionally classify as a “culinary mishap”… also known as “someone got distracted and the food fought back.”

Crews found a light haze of smoke and quickly ventilated the building. No harm done, just a little extra “flavor” added to the morning.

Call #216.5 – The Half Call
While wrapping up, 911 notified First Assistant Chief Ron Moreau of a transformer arcing in Indiana Borough. Crews started heading that way, ready for round three…

…and then got the update:
Indiana Borough Police had just cleared their line at the coffee shop, caffeine secured, and arrived on scene—only to find Penelec already handling the issue. ☕🚓

Fire units were cancelled and returned to service, slightly disappointed they didn’t get to play with more tools.

All in all, a productive 2.5 calls—no injuries, quick work by all agencies, and only one meal harmed in the process.
