,Royal MENtality program most recent event: ‘What Does it Mean to be a College Educated Man’. Engaged Kings in fruitful dialogue surrounding issues of masculinity, brotherhood in college, balancing professionally relationships with faculty and staff, and the importance of mental health.

Our most outstanding King of the event, Deon. Was awarded a laptop for not only their participation but for their continued strive towards excellence and commitment to their college pursuits.

I just started reading The Promise Land and it’s very enlightening. The writing is authentic and transparent. I thoroughly enjoy learning about President Obama’s journey in life and how he navigates the political world while still staying true to his blackness.

There is nothing worse than having an unorganized interview process. Have you ever shown up for a job interview and they are not prepared for your arrival❓ Meaning, there is no itinerary or any additional directions given. Were they on time for your interview❓ Was there consistent communication throughout the interview process❓

The answers to these questions may be a positive or negative reflection of the day to day operations at the company. First impressions are what we have to not only “WOW” the employer but for companies to “WOW” the candidate❗Remember, it must be a mutual benefit 🤝 for both parties.

A healthy work environment is necessary for your professional development to progress your career in the right direction. ⬆️↗️↖️📈

Last night, I had the pleasure of moderating a conversation with the Democratic Nominee for Public Service Commissioner of Georgia,
Dr. Robert Bryant.

We had over 200+ viewers tune in to listen as we discussed Robert Bryant for Public Service Commissioner for District 1, Southeast, GA campaign issues: surrounding lowering utility bills for Georgia residents and plans to sustain clean energy in Georgia, once elected in November.

We also discussed, the importance of humanizing political figures and future plans to empower more diversity representation in the environmental science industry. By creating scholarship opportunities for students aiming to attend Historical Black Colleges & Universities in the state of Georgia.

Interview Tip #2: Stay focused on your purpose during the job process🏁. Growth is not always about position or salary💰. Although, those two things are NICE❗It is also about learning and growing within the role. Become an expert in the field. Strive to be the best employee by consistently fulfilling the company's 📈vision for the future.

Like anything in life, it takes a village. You must depend on companies, supervisors, and co-workers to professionally support and invest in your development.

During the interview, scope👀 out the power dynamic at the office. Get the lay of the land. Check out the leadership structure, take note if there are gaps in leadership ✅. Are current employees being supported professionally ✅? Are there opportunities to increase responsibility✅? Is there mandatory New Hire Training? Does the work environment feel healthy✅?

These recommendations should be considered BEFORE you accept the position. Remember this is a mutual agreement between both parties🤝. It is a beautiful😍 thing when you enjoy your work and the environment.

We must begin to normalize that the job process is a mutual agreement between both parties😉. Often employees work tirelessly for companies and have nothing to show for such efforts while on the job👎. This could be due to the lack of leadership, subpar development from supervisors, or a mixture of both🙅‍♂️.

☝️It is important during the interview process to evaluate your coworkers. Asking them critical questions surrounding their experiences/expertise, reviewing their Linkedin account or reviewing current employee’s bios on the company webpage.

Your future employer is potentially monitoring your social media accounts and speaking to your previous employer/recommendations. The job process 🏁 is all about evaluation 📝and if the candidate can help the company achieve their vision.

Evaluate your coworkers during the interview. Some questions that you should consider asking yourself after the interview:
•In what ways can I assist my coworkers achieve their goals?
•What can I learn from them?
•How can I leverage their experiences to help achieve my goals while on the job?
•Did your potential coworkers actively listen to you during the interview?
