“My first ministry is unto my family.”
Years ago, someone said this during an interview with Family Links, and my immediate response was: Amen.
Because it’s true.
I first met my wife, Stephanie, when I was 8 years old. ❤️ And 13 years ago today, my committed ministry as her husband officially began.
Marriage has taught me that ministry isn’t only what happens in church, from a pulpit, or through the work we do in the community. Ministry starts at home.
Through my faith in Jesus, I’m learning every day how to love, protect, sacrifice, forgive, reconcile, grow, change, be challenged, and become a better husband and partner.
That may be one of the greatest lessons marriage has taught me: marriage is ministry—unto God and unto one another.
And real ministry requires something from you. It requires sacrifice. Grace. Accountability. Reconciliation. Commitment. And the daily decision to keep choosing one another.
So today, I celebrate 13 years with my wife, my partner, and my first ministry—Stephanie Tichenor. ❤️
May we continue to please God through the way we love one another, serve one another, grow together, and choose each other until the end.
My family is ministry.
My work is ministry.
My life is ministry.
All unto God. 🙏🏾❤️
