I am absolutely amazed at the kindness and generosity of our community! 💜 This machine was donated to the studio! It will be available to borrow once I have classes ready to go (probably July) but until then feel free to stop by and say hi anytime and check it out! Studio 226 in CAMi!!!

If you have a sewing machine you don't need, even if it needs some work, please reach out! I would love to have more available for people to use.

Big news! I'm very proud to share that I have been awarded a Project Grant from the Indy Arts Council with support from the City of Indianapolis.

This opportunity will help me create a public arts experience that brings people together, celebrates community, and expands access to creativity across Marion County.

I'm so excited to bring this project to life and share updates along the way.

To say I'm obsessed with color is an understatement. The idea of color and color theories absolutely fascinates me!
This morning I'm taking some time to sit with one of my favorite color tomes and work on setting a more official palette for upcoming projects (patterns, kits, new tutorial videos).
I love how this book uses photos of tapestry, kimono, clothing, etc and lays out their beautiful pallettes. I also really like that it re-uses colors so you can see them in different combinations and really get a feel for how they will work across mediums.

It took me so long to learn that the most important part of being creative is not being afraid to take time to rest and reset. I never think I've earned it, no matter how much I've accomplished, but I just have to remember that rest isn't something you have to earn.
I'm very lucky to have Ms. Bart by my side to make sure I'm taking it easy. Snuggie, popcorn, grape Kool aid, and an American Gladiator marathon are going to make this a delightful Sunday evening. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

It can be really hard to get motivated in the morning to get into my studio and get back to work. It doesn't matter that it's my favorite place in the world, some days my brain just begs to be anywhere else!
The slow, repetitive tasks can seem endless and draining.
But if I burn a candle, spin a record, and just allow myself to feel the moment it goes from "how can I?" to "let's do this!"
