I’ve been thinking a lot lately about impact.
Today, I begin my term as President of Dress for Success Indianapolis, where many of our recent strategic planning conversations have centered on our mission and the impact we want to continue making in the lives of women.
At the same time, I’ve had conversations with women entrepreneurs who are intentionally building their villages, Whatever It Takes Consulting is supporting an organization doing restorative justice work as it develops a way to evaluate its impact, and WIT will soon sponsor an African American Women of Indianapolis event celebrating and connecting women in our community.
Different conversations. Different spaces. But they have me thinking about the same thing.
Sometimes we can become so busy doing the work that we don't stop to ask whether the work is creating the difference we intended.
So, my question today is a simple one:
What does impact look like for you—and how do you know when you’re making it?
