Our donors made International Plasma Awareness Week 2026 one to remember. 💛

A big congratulations to Danny, the lucky winner of the YETI cooler in our final IPAW drawing! 🎉 We hope you enjoy your prize!

We loved celebrating with our donors throughout the week and showing our appreciation with goodie bags, bed bingo, and other fun activities. Thank you to everyone who continues to support the development of new and accurate diagnostic tools!

From donors and researchers to diagnostic developers and laboratories, plasma helps connect the people working to improve diagnostic testing.

Your donation supports the development of diagnostic tools that help laboratories better identify and understand health conditions. ✨

Diagnostic tools help researchers, laboratories and healthcare professionals better understand health conditions and evaluate new approaches.

Plasma donations help support the research and development of these essential testing and diagnostic tools.

This International Plasma Awareness Week, we’re recognizing the important role donors play in that process. 🤎

Not all plasma donations are the same. 👇🏼

Specialty plasma is collected from individuals with specific medical conditions and helps support the development of diagnostic tools used to identify and monitor diseases.

During International Plasma Awareness Week, we’re recognizing the important role specialty plasma donors play in helping scientists and diagnostic developers advance testing solutions for healthcare and research.

Thank you for being part of something bigger. 💛

Throughout International Plasma Awareness Week, we’re celebrating our donor community and sharing information about the role plasma plays in research and diagnostic development.

Current donors can participate in activities, such as giveaways and games, taking place throughout the week during their scheduled visits. Individuals interested in learning more about donation opportunities are encouraged to speak with our team at our Indianapolis Specialty Donation Center.

This International Plasma Awareness Week, we’re celebrating the donors who help make important advances in healthcare possible. 💛

Each plasma and specialty plasma donation can support the development and validation of diagnostic tools used to help detect, monitor and better understand health conditions.

Through their generosity, donors provide the biological materials that scientists and diagnostic developers rely on to create and improve the tests used in laboratories around the world.

Thank you to every donor who contributes to this important work.

👉 Leukopak donation collects white blood cells through a donation process called leukapheresis.

To donate leukopaks, individuals must be between 18 and 60 years old, in good general health, and have a suitable vein in each arm.

White blood cells play an important role in biomedical research, including cell therapy development, which may advance therapies for cancer, autoimmune, and infectious diseases. By participating, donors help support this important area of research. 💚

As a thank you for their time and participation, leukopak donors receive compensation.

The Grifols Bio Supplies Specialty Donation Program in Indianapolis is designed for individuals who may qualify based on their medical history or specific health conditions.

The programme currently focuses on two donation opportunities. While both support healthcare innovation, they involve different biological materials and support different healthcare applications:

🧡Specialty plasma donation, supporting diagnostic development.
💚 Leukopak (white blood cell) donation, supporting cell therapy research.

Donors participate in an appointment-based programme and are compensated for their time and participation each time they donate.

But what exactly are these donation opportunities, and how do they differ? 🤔 We’ll take a closer look in our next post.
