The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Central Indiana Small Business Development Center and the Indiana Chamber Executive Association are offering Indiana businesses and stakeholders a free webinar on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. CT), on resiliency training to help businesses before, during and after disasters.

Entrepreneurs in all areas are encouraged to attend to learn about resiliency classes and other assistance from the Small Business Development Center and other federal, state and local agencies. The Small Business Development Center offers training courses to ensure business owners and stakeholders have the tools necessary to recover from disasters. Discussions will include business continuity planning, disaster preparation, and mitigation.

In addition, the webinar will highlight working capital funds from the SBA available in the form of Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs), available in 57 counties in Indiana and surrounding states to businesses that were economically affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes that struck the area from March 31 through April 1 .

“SBA working capital loans, technical and operational advice from the Small Business Development Center, and other federal, state and local partners can expedite recovery,” said Ed Fears, acting director of SBA Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.

Please register in advance. The Small Business Development Center, Indiana Chamber Executive Association-ICEA and the SBA have a significant partnership with the shared goal of helping entrepreneurs minimize the risk of disaster and utilize resources to repair, rebuild and recover when disasters strike. Classes are free but capacity is limited.

The Indiana SBDC (Small Business Development Center) is partnering with Cummins Inc to host the 2021 “Cummins Exploratory Day,” an effort by Cummins Global Supplier Diversity’s Center of Excellence to grow supply opportunities for a diverse audience of suppliers, including veteran-owned, minority-owned, women-owned, and LGBTQ-owned businesses. With a special focus toward veteran-owned businesses, the 2021 webinar will provide an insight into Cummins, provide potential suppliers the necessary groundwork for becoming a preferred vendor and discuss the global opportunities for both products and services.

In recognition of our veteran-owned businesses, this year’s “Cummins Exploratory Day” will take place virtually the week of Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 9th, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern. We look forward to seeing you virtually!
