🎉 Client Win Spotlight: 1000 Words 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate 1000 Words Inc., who was awarded funding through The Indianapolis Foundation Competitive Round to launch their new Business of Art program.

Business of Art is a culturally responsive initiative designed to equip Black and Brown visual artists with the business tools needed to build sustainable, creative careers—from legal structure and financial literacy to branding, pricing, and grant readiness.
This investment recognizes what the community has long known: creative talent is abundant—but access to business education and economic opportunity has not been.

Congratulations to the 1000 Words Inc. team on this well-deserved win and on continuing to build pathways where art, equity, and entrepreneurship meet. ✨

Funding like this doesn’t happen by chance—it happens when strong missions are paired with clarity, readiness, and alignment.

The Indianapolis Foundation Competitive Round is highly competitive, and we’re proud to see The Riley Youth Community Center and 1000 Words Inc. selected for investment totaling $80,000.

At The Cause Conduit, we support organizations in building the systems and strategies that position them for opportunities like this—so when funders are ready to invest, our clients are ready to receive and steward those dollars well.

More proof that community-rooted work deserves—and can secure—serious investment. ✨

🌟 Celebrating Leadership. Celebrating Impact. Celebrating Tequilla Ncube. 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own Tequilla, founder of Tribe Youth Foundation, for being recognized with the Indy Impact Award! 👏🏾🎉

This honor reflects what we already know: Tequilla is a purpose-driven leader deeply committed to serving youth, strengthening families, and building pathways of opportunity in our community.

At The Cause Conduit, we believe that community-rooted organizations deserve dollars, trust, and access to scale . Tribe Youth Foundation is exactly the kind of mission-driven work our ecosystem needs more of—bold, grassroots leadership backed by heart and strategy.

Tequilla doesn’t just talk about impact. She builds it. She sustains it. She shows up for it every single day.

The Indy Impact Award recognizes leaders who are creating real change—and Tribe Youth Foundation is doing just that. From empowering young people to creating safe, supportive spaces for growth, the work is transformational.

Tequilla, we see you.
We celebrate you.
And we are honored to be in this work alongside you.

The arts are culture—but they’re also economic infrastructure.

With support from The Indianapolis Foundation Competitive Round, 1000 Words Inc. is launching Business of Art: a program created by and for artists who have historically been excluded from traditional business training and funding pathways.

By pairing creative practice with practical business education, this program helps artists move from passion to sustainability—strengthening both individual livelihoods and Indianapolis’ creative economy.

At The Cause Conduit, we’re proud to support organizations like 1000 Words Inc. that turn bold vision into fundable, scalable impact. This is what equitable investment looks like.

📚 Reflections of Us is more than a curriculum—it’s a mirror.

Created by The Riley Youth Community Center in partnership with Brother Jamaal Shabazz, Reflections of Us centers African American history, identity, and lived experience as essential to youth learning and development.

With nearly $250,000 in funding from IAAQLI, this work affirms something we deeply believe at The Cause Conduit: Historically excluded organizations don’t lack vision—they’ve lacked access.

Our role is to help remove those barriers—so Black history, Black leadership, and Black futures are funded, protected, and scaled with intention.

This Black History Month, we celebrate not just the past—but the systems being rebuilt to fund our future. ✨

✊🏾 Black History Month is about more than reflection—it’s about repair, investment, and access.

We’re proud to celebrate a transformational win for The Riley Youth Community Center, which received nearly $250,000 to develop the Reflections of Us curriculum in collaboration with Brother Jamaal Shabazz.

This funding was awarded through the Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Initiative (IAAQLI)—a place-based effort designed to increase the quality of life for Black residents in Indianapolis by investing directly in community-rooted solutions.

At The Cause Conduit, this is exactly the work we exist to support:
✔️ Black-led organizations
✔️ Culturally grounded programming
✔️ Funding pathways that historically excluded our communities

When resources reach the people closest to the work, history becomes a tool for empowerment—not erasure.
