We’re excited to have Leandra Barnes, MD (Stanford University) as a featured speaker at the PDA 78th Annual Meeting, taking place August 21–23, 2026, at the Everline Resort in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Dr. Barnes is a board-certified dermatologist at Stanford Health Care and an Instructor of Dermatology at Stanford School of Medicine.

Dr. Barnes specializes in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), skin cancer, and conditions that disproportionately affect people of color. Dr. Barnes is Co-Director of the Stanford Medicine Hidradenitis Suppurativa Specialty Clinic, Founding Director of the Stanford Medicine Skin of Color Program, and Director of Advocacy, Equity, and Inclusion within Stanford Dermatology.

Dr. Barnes’ research focuses on the causes of HS, improving access to care, and advancing melanoma awareness among underserved populations. Dr. Barnes has published extensively in leading dermatology journals and is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences.

Dr. Barnes will share her expertise through 2 sessions:

Poster Presentations will take place during the PDA 78th Annual Meeting, held August 21–23 in Lake Tahoe, California.

Submission Deadline: June 15, 2026

Don’t miss your opportunity to gain experience as a presenter, showcase your research or case report, and connect with dermatologists and trainees from across the country.

• Posters can be research-themed or a case report
• Open to trainees (residents and medical students) and young physicians less than 5 years in practice
• Submissions are limited to 1 per presenting author
• Posters will be judged and a $500 cash prize will be awarded to the top poster presented at PDA 2026

Our 2026 Resident Case Symposium will take place over three days during the PDA 2026 Conference, to be held August 21-23 in Lake Tahoe, California.

Don't miss your chance to gain experience as a presenter and educator, compete against residents from other programs, and interact with prominent dermatologists who are also meeting faculty.

• $1200 in travel expenses will be provided for the 12 residents selected to present
• Resident presenters will receive complimentary meeting registration
• The top case will be selected as the Anita Gilliam Best Resident Case and receive $500 cash
• The best resident presenter will receive a “traveling” award engraved with their name and past winners that can be displayed prominently at their institution

3:15 pm to 4:15 pm

6 "contestants" will be selected to pitch their idea related to innovation in patient or provider education, products, devices, clinical efficiency, or clinical workflows.
