Many people ask "how did you get so flexible? You're so lucky!"

Let me tell you, it's not luck. It's CONSISTENCY. To be good at anything, one must practice all the time. Add stretching a few times a week and your body will start to respond.

What's your favorite stretch? πŸ€”

I am SO EXCITED to announce that I'm finally putting my certification to use 😜 quick-ish back story for those of you that don't know me well.

In 2017, I became the most unhealthy version of myself ever in my life. I finally had enough of feeling like crap every single day. I began a whole foods keto diet, consistently exercised, and within about 8 months lost 65 lbs! I'll cherish that time period most because it catapulted me into the health and wellness space for good.

Early last year I went through hell and back with a lower back issue that ended up being an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing spondylitis (causes inflammation in your joints). I gained about 40 lbs over a years time, and am finally back to the healthy version of myself through an evolved sense of discipline, consistent movement, and fueling my body with a mainly carnivorous diet, & very minimal processed foods.

From 2019 to now, I have been coaching group fitness classes. I explored The Barre Code and Burn boot camp, and ultimately landed at an F45, local to me here in Broad Ripple! In 2022, I got certified in personal training to further my knowledge and experience in the health and wellness industry.

Now, I plan on tackling online personal training and lifestyle change clients! My programs will be completely customized to YOU, your goals, and your needs. We will take a deep dive together into your current situation. We will make short and long-term goals, and I will be with you every step of the way on your journey! While I will guide you on nutrition and customized workouts, it will be ultimately up to YOU as to what path you take. Remember, all our bodies have different needs, and that is what we will explore together: what works best for YOUR body.

If you're interested in becoming a client of mine, please fill out the training application below, and I will reach out ASAP for a quick phone call.

Please note that I am currently looking for clients who want to lose weight, gain muscle, and dive deep into their own habits and behaviors to create discipline with long lasting health and well being!

I'm so excited to work with you!

Much love, Katelyn ❀️

Small (big for me) update for anyone interested. Brace yourself, it's going to be a doozy. Last year around this time my lower back began giving me HELLA inflammation issues that I just couldn't seem to mitigate on my own. Since then, I've gone to the chiropractor (sometimes 3x a week), and that seemed to be helping. Once that didn't seem to be any benefit, I got into contact with my GP. I started on nabumetome (an NSAID) twice a day for 8 weeks. Little to no relief. Cue a steroid pack. Nothing. We then proceeded to do PT three times a week for 6 weeks. Still no relief. Cue the second Prednisone pack. Again, nothing. My GP then sent me to the spine center, where they took multiple MRIs, and bloodwork. The spine center then referred me to the rheumatologist. There I experienced more MRIs, and 19 vials of blood for a full comprehensive panel with a bunch of stuff I had no idea existed. Once the bloodwork came back, in conjunction with the inflammation in my SI joint via MRI, the rheumatologist diagnosed me with ankylosing spondylitis. This is an autoimmune disease that triggers inflammation in the joints. For me, the SI. I was then prescribed Humira twice a month, for six months. Well two weeks ago I got my first dose.

Week one I increased my walking (mostly treadmill) to play it safe, and see what my body responded to. Week two I started getting a little more risky and started doing hip thrusts, planks, bodyweight squats, and a few farmers walks with light weights. Yesterday I did a decent little lift with 8 exercises, most of them 3 sets, 12 reps. Today I woke up feeling GREAT. I went to for today's full body workout. Although I feel like I'm starting from the beginning, I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My appetite is back, (mainly due to exercise), and I finally feel like wanting to eat healthy foods to compound the effects of my exercise. Last year I was 1000% convinced that the lower back inflammation was due to the old bulged disc I had via the 2018 summer injury. I am so so grateful the doctors have dug deeper than I ever imagined. And while I'm not thrilled about the diagnosis....

HAPPY MONDAY πŸ™‚πŸ‘‡

Last week I made my goal of hitting the sauna 4X! This week I'm going to ADD another goal on top of that. To RUN three times this week. I have never ever enjoyed running, which tells me I need to do it more! πŸ€ͺ

Just finished a 9:45 min mile, so cheers to lowering that number! πŸ’ͺ

What's on your goal sheet this week? I'd love to cheer you on, comment below!

Happy Monday πŸ™‚

One GREAT habit to form is a morning flow to get the body going. Turn on your favorite music and give that body 10 minutes of movement. Self care doesn't need to be fancy. It just needs to feel good β™₯️

Let's get after our fitness goals this week y'all! One intent I have is to make it to the sauna 4x this week. Drop one goal you have! πŸ‘‡
