CLEAR ROADS, LESS SALT: A recent research study confirmed the effectiveness and benefits of snowplows using liquid brine to clear highways in the winter.

Brine is a mixture of granular salt and water used to keep roads clear before or during winter weather. The study tested regular rock-salt and brine on parallel routes in two Wisconsin counties and found nearly equal road performance, with brine achieving similar traction while using between 40-72% less salt. The research confirms using brine can help keep roads safe while also being sustainable and cost-effective.

Dear customer,
Due to the fast and heavy start to the 25-26 winter season, Morton Salt’s operations team has determined they need to conserve inventory at the Toledo & Sandusky depots until at least January 26th for governmental and DOT orders that are critical for public safety. Commercial shipments are suspended until at least January 26th. This includes both pick-up and delivery and no new commercial orders will be accepted during this service interruption.
For customer that have reached their 25-26 salt allocation, please note that currently we do not have extra or additional supplies available.
I will send out another email once I get notification that we can resume commercial shipments.
FYI – The only location where I currently have salt available is Nashville, TN – Pick Up ONLY.
