Heavy Equipment Operator works on various construction sites to operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as excavators, motor graders, skid loaders, bulldozers, scrapers, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth. May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy construction equipment.

• Considerable knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles. Ability to drive and operate heavy equipment under varying working conditions.

• The ability to follow applicable safety precautions Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations is also required.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees, external vendors and other business associates. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Must have good interpersonal skills.

• Ability to be punctual and dependable.
• Must be able to work 8 to 12-hour workdays, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. Must be flexible regarding work hours including evenings and weekends.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

- Minimum of one-three (1-3) years of Construction or Landscape Experience.

- An industry certification relevant to landscape construction would be a strong plus for this position but is not required.

- Should have the ability to problem solve onsite.

- Creating excellent work and excellent customer experiences at all times.

- Successfully completing all projects without return trips.

- Ability to use basic hand power tools as well as to safely operate for loading and unloading purposes skid steers, mini skid steers, and other heavy equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.

Other requirements for this position include:

- Authorization to work in the United States

- Clean driving record, drug-free, valid driver's license, and ability to be added to the company fleet insurance policy.

- Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds on a consistent basis.

- Dependable form of transportation.

- Ability to lift 50+ pounds during the day

- Be able to work outside in direct sunlight for 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week

The MetX Companies A Team went out on a Saturday and patched in a section of road after it was torn up for repairs to utilities. They hand raked ( no paver ) 42 Tons in 3 hours so the road could be opened back up to traffic. Way to go team. You guys and gal Rocked it.
