Supporting families in strengthening their relationships—especially between adult children and their parents—is work I do and care deeply about. In times where more and more adult children are moving back in with their parents, and through seasons of aging parents needing extra help while they are living independently, communication can become strained. It’s an honor to play even a small role in helping them grow, understand one another, and reconnect with care and compassion.

My 13-year old son and I had a good laugh together this morning singing the Thomas and Friends theme song. I was a little rusty. What a great big smile it put on my face to hear him carry me on the forgotten parts! 😆🥰🚂

This quote has lived rent free in my head for 12 years. Through my husband's new jobs, through sleepless toddler nights, through my divorce and unemployment, while I was praying for a place to live all the way through to saying 'yes' to intimidating public speaking engagements. Here's the thing: there hasn't been a low point or a high point on this hilly, windy road of life where this sentence hasn’t given me the courage to take the next step anyway. Life isn't made to be easy, it's made to grow. You can do hard things. Keep going. ♡

In many ways, this aligns with what I do professionally. Family court cases can be unpredictable; it can be disproportionately risky for those with fewer resources and the consequences can escalate quickly. I think it’s critical to slow things down, promote transparency, and give clients the time and clarity they need to make empowered decisions about their lives.

Great article to reflect on!

Last Monday I hosted another Grounds for Divorce event, where I had the privilege of sharing about my work with a couple of wonderful humans. We shared stories and explored meaningful solutions for navigating the challenges they’re currently facing. It’s always powerful to witness what can happen when people feel supported and not alone. Moments like these remind me why creating space for honest conversation and support matters so much.

It also affords me an amazing opportunity to check out gems like Smith Eden Prairie Coffee! Stop in and try a chocolate almond croissant - holy buckets! 🤤
