August is Women in Translation Month, and we wanted to shout out two of our amazing speakers who are both talented writers, poets, and translators!

Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai is a renowned translator, poet, and novelist who translates from Vietnamese into English, and vice versa. This includes translating her own work!

Carina del Valle Schorske is a writer and translator whose work is deeply interested in Caribbean culture. Her translation work focuses on Caribbean poetry–specifically that of Puerto Rican poet Marigloria Palma.
