🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Sidney of Need Organizing? Organizing since 1999 🌟
Meet one of our incredible community partners: Sidney, founder of Need Organizing? and new Hillsborough neighbor!
Sidney recently moved to the area when her husband accepted a position at UNC, and she’s quickly fallen in love with the charm and community here.
Her connection to PORCH Hillsborough grew naturally through her work.
“PORCH’s mission aligns perfectly with the heart of my business - helping families create calm, functional spaces while making sure donated items go right back into the community.”
Through Need Organizing?, Sidney turns everyday pantry purges into meaningful impact. When clients declutter, unopened and in-date nonperishable food doesn’t go to waste - it goes directly to PORCH, supporting local families right away.
“It’s a simple way to turn decluttering into immediate support for local families, and my clients love knowing their items go right back into the community.”
Even as a newer volunteer, Sidney has already felt the welcoming spirit of PORCH, “Nora has been incredibly welcoming and helpful - her warmth makes it easy to feel connected and excited to support the work PORCH is doing.”
From organizing homes to fighting hunger in our community, Sidney is showing how small actions can make a big impact. 💚
