About Me & My Real Estate Journey
My name is Nicole Jones, and I was destined to work in New Construction. At the young age of 8 years old, I knew all too well what the smell of lumber was; my father was what you would call "A Jack of All Trades". We were always in a home improvement store during the time my dad was building my childhood home. I remember helping him lay tile for our floor, popping the chalk-line on the sheetrock, to holding a flashlight as he tighten a bolt under the sink. He worked from sun-up to sun-down on our home and he did it with a smile on his face. I remember thinking back then, "I want to have a passion that I love doing every day that doesn't feel like work." I worked in the Corporate America Arena for over 12 years. During those 12 years, I climbed the ladder as much as my Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration, Masters in Business Administration, Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) and Quality Improvement Green Belt would take me. You know what they say...EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! After 10 years with Anderson, I was laid off...and you know what, that was the beginning of the best days of my career and passion! I was able to walk away with a smile on my face knowing there was something more out there for me. I can now do something I was passionate about and help people accomplish goals they didn't think were possible! Shortly after being laid off, I started my path into Real Estate. I took my real estate courses and took my exam (passed on the 1st attempt) within 2 months of being laid off! Excuse me if I toot my own horn...but TOOT-TOOT! I had an amazing year in Real Estate and was fortunate enough to meet and help a lot of AMAZING people. An opportunity presented itself to work for a builder and I couldn't resist exploring. The thought of being able to help people buy and build their new home every day in a community was the missing link in my career. Fast forward to today, I started my new construction experience with Perry Homes in 2018 and was blessed to be able to meet and help so many new homeowners! Now in 2020, I'm with Chesmar Homes and looking forward to assisting and guiding more to home-ownership! It has not been a smooth road. HGTV makes being a Realtor look glamorous, easy and fun—BUT it is definitely not even close to easy. What kept me going was the thought of sitting across from my client at the closing table and seeing their smiling faces while signing for their home purchase. All the phone calls, tears and frustration makes it worthwhile when I see the happiness on my buyers’ face! I tell my home-buyers that buying a home is like riding a roller-coaster! You'll have some good days---you'll have some bad days...however, the ride will eventually come to an end and when the ride is over, you'll be happy you stuck in there. I know this sounds cliche, but I wouldn't change a thing that has transpired in my career. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and you experience things in life to prepare you for what's to come. Every job, co-worker, and manager I’ve worked with have played an integral part to who I’ve become and where I am today.
