This is so sad, The Dell family have pledged to give $250 to 25 million kids and only 6.25 million have signed up. I sincerely hope that politics is not keeping parents from signing their kids up and getting these accounts!
A new stat from the Council of Economic Advisers shows more than 6.5 million American children have been signed up for the new "Trump Accounts," giving them a head start on investing.
Americans have been racing to download the app, which lets parents manage new government-sponsored investment accounts for their children as part of the federal savings program which launched on July 4.
Eligible kids can receive a $1,000 government contribution, with families also able to add their own money to the accounts that are managed by parents or guardians until the child turns 18. At that age, children can use the money to pay for certain expenses like education, buying a home, or starting a business.
