Thanks to a generous donation from Peter Hahn, the Iron Ridge Fire Department was able to purchase new HEN nozzles to improve the effectiveness of our firefighting operations.
For a volunteer department like ours, equipment that helps us do more with less can make a significant difference.
These nozzles are designed to provide an effective fire stream with reduced nozzle reaction, making the hoseline easier for our firefighters to control, maneuver, and advance. That means less energy is spent fighting the nozzle and more effort can be focused on moving the hoseline and getting water where it needs to go.
With limited manpower, that efficiency matters. When a smaller crew can more effectively operate an attack line, other firefighters remain available for other critical tasks.
These nozzles don't replace firefighters—they help the firefighters we have work more effectively and efficiently.
It's a great example of how community support can directly improve the safety and capabilities of our department. We are extremely grateful for the decades of support and friendship we have received from Pete. Kind, caring and honorable individuals, such as himself deserve to be recognized for their contributions to the community.
