ABOUT YOUNG CATHOLIC PROFESSIONALS

The mission of Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) is to encourage young adults working in various professions to 'Work in Witness for Christ'. As a national organization, YCP membership consists of young adults in their 20s and 30s, single and married, who are highly motivated to achieve personal and professional success while seeking a greater understanding of

their Catholic faith. We also welcome professionals who may not be Catholic, but are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Members benefit from access to exclusive networking events, executive speaking events across a variety of industries, spiritual direction, executive mentors, panel discussions, monthly newsletters, and more. LOCAL CHAPTERS & NATIONAL EXPANSION

Young Catholic Professionals’ flagship chapter was founded in Dallas in 2010. The chapter:
• Draws 200 young professionals to monthly speaker events.
• Supports 250 members with additional networking and faith benefits.
• Reaches 1,500 young adults with monthly email updates.

In today’s gospel we hear Christ ask the question “Who do people say that the Son of Man is.”

Jesus's closest friends had answers ready like John the Baptist or Elijah. The internet, our workplaces, and our group chats have their own opinions about who Jesus is.

Then Jesus makes it personal: "But who do you say that I am?"

Peter's answer, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God", didn’t come from secondhand information or was a rehearsed response. It came from his own relationship with Jesus.

That's what Christ is asking of us too. Not to repeat what we've heard, but to know Him for ourselves and grow in deep relation with Him.

Who are you becoming? And is who God is calling you to be?

Behind great chapter growth and excellent YCP events are great volunteer chapter leaders like Tom DiBenedetto.

Tom has spent the last 3 years building up YCP Philadelphia, and as Director of Marketing and Fundraising, that work has only grown. This year he led fundraising for the chapter's 5-Year Anniversary Gala and built new relationships with Villanova University and other colleges, creating opportunities and partnerships that benefit members across the chapter.

And he does it all with a cheerful spirit, always greeting people with a smile and making people feel welcome.

Chapter president Autumn put it best: "His optimism, strategic mindset, and unwavering belief in the good YCP can do make him a tremendous leader, teammate, and friend. He is beyond a deserving choice for the Leader of the Month."

A former agent and security executive for the Department of Homeland Security, Kumar now owns his own leadership company called GuideQuest, where he coaches senior executives and leadership teams.

We're smack in the middle of Ordinary Time... and look at what the Lord is doing.

On Mt. Tabor, Jesus is transfigured in dazzling light right in front of Peter, James, and John.

Peter didn't want the moment to end. But he couldn't stay. He had to walk back down the mountain, back to the daily grind. Here's the thing, though — Jesus walked down the mountain, too.

Most of our days are spent in inboxes, commutes, and to-do lists. It's easy to see God in the mountaintop moments. But He's with us in the ordinary ones too. We just have to look for Him.

It might look like:
→ Staying patient with a difficult coworker
→ A quiet minute of prayer before a big meeting
→ A friend or mentor who checks in and actually means it

Not exactly glowing-on-a-mountain material. But holy, all the same.

Whether you're in a mountaintop moment right now or stuck in the middle of an ordinary day, Peter's words are for you: "Lord, it is good that we are here."
