MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Roberto “Bobby” Candelas was elected Secretary of the Dallas LGBT Bar Association at the annual meeting on October 15th. Bobby is an associate in the Dallas office of McGuireWoods LLP. His practice focuses on private equity and corporate transactional matters, representing private equity funds, independent sponsors, emerging managers, and institutional investors. Prior to joining the firm, Bobby earned a BA in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a JD from Texas A&M School of Law, cm laude. During his time at Texas A&M, Bobby was a staff editor on the Journal of Property Law, a teaching assistant, and an Admissions Student Ambassador. Bobby also served as the president of Texas A&M’s OUTLaw chapter and as a Student Director for the Dallas LGBT Bar Association.

Bobby was the recipient of a Dallas LGBT Bar Association Scholarship in 2023. We are currently accepting applications for our next round of scholarships to be awarded at Visibility Ball on November 22, 2025. Applications are due October 31, 2025.
