June is designated as National Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.
Men often hesitate to express concerns, contributing to the alarming statistic that 79% of all su***des in the United States are perpetrated by men. Approximately 1 in 10 men experience anxiety or depression, yet less than half receive appropriate treatment.
Discussing mental health is not a sign of weakness, and expressing suicidal thoughts is not attention-seeking behavior.
Public safety personnel prioritize public well-being and frequently work longer hours than their counterparts at home. Despite their personal challenges, they consistently demonstrate unwavering dedication to providing their best service.
If you require support, please reach out to a friend, family, resiliency officer, cop to cop or the national su***de hotline. Your life holds significance and you matter.
This month moving forward , take proactive measures to safeguard the well-being and extend support to the men in your life.
