POS Winter Survey Highlights Overview:
We conducted a survey of 3,317 restaurant brands this winter to validate and update our POS system records. The results confirm that 78.35% of locations continue to use the POS system currently listed in our database.
Verified updates were provided for an additional 12.81% of locations, and these changes are now being incorporated into our system. The remaining 8.83% of locations have not responded to any outreach from our survey team.
Update Highlights The survey identified 108 net-new POS installations and 317 confirmed system replacements. More than 70% of the new group/brand installations were concentrated among a small group of leading providers, with Toast capturing the largest share with 39 brands. Additional high‑volume additions included Square, Clover, Aloha, Micros, and Par.
Among the 317 replacements, 76% were concentrated within ten POS solutions. Toast led all competitors, displacing 126 incumbent systems. Other major replacement platforms included Micros, Square, Aloha, Clover, Shift4, Heartland, Speedline, Spot On, and InfoGenesis.
