New York City's $108 million DUMBO streetscape project, led by the Department of Design and Construction with DOT and DEP, restored cobblestones across 26 blocks and added more than 12,000 feet of granite curb, 8,800 feet of granite bike lane and 114 ADA ramps. The ABC Construction Backlog Indicator dropped to 8.0 months in July, down from 8.8 in June, and June construction spending came in 3.2 percent below the same month last year. For masonry and hardscape dealers across Long Island, New Jersey, and the wider Tri-State market, the instinct is to cut inventory. Our latest piece argues the opposite.
