We had another nasty forcast today but one thing remains the same. This bad weather has been bringing out the chunks! It was a set it and forgot it day on the Lowrance Recon today, just grabbed a heading and set a slow speed. The Norsk Lithiums held up there end of the deal a kept us powered up.

Started off my season with a 6.08, i couldn't help myself, so i stayed and fished a loaded spot for a while. I usually leave when I find a good ball of them, but i figured I'll have clients for the next few months. So I put the hurt on a bunch to get my wiggles out. Slow swim baits and mid range jerkbaits did most of my damage today. Sure was nice to get a pre spawn bite for once.

Open water on MilleLacs means we are open for buisness for Smallmouth season! I have very little availability between now and the 4th of July but I do have some. Mostly half day evenings, but if you are looking for my 8hr day trip I have 2 days open next week and the 16th and 17th of May. That is all I have until late June for day time trips but like I said before I can definitely squeeze in some evening half days. I am super pumped to get this season rolling. Without a doubt one of my favorite times to chase FAT bronze backs! Message me if you are serious about taking one of these prime dates.

OPENINGS AS EARLY AS THE 16TH! I HAVE 3 OR 4 DAYS OPEN STILL BEFORE I WRAP UP MY 2025 SEASON.

Smallmouth Camp 2025 was a great success this season. The first week of October has become a tradition over the last few years. Thanks Bri for keeping me busy.

We caught some great fish heading into the weekend. The weather has been out of this world. Even with water temps flirting with 70 degrees every day, the smallies have been cooperating. If your on the right part of the lake you'll keep a 4lb average going pretty easily. I wonder how good the bite could get if the water actually cools down....
The walleyes have really started to show up as well. Im not really targeting them most days but I am seeing many more in our daily catch. Plenty of pike have moved into the shoreline breaks, we have been catching them daily especially west and north. Let's hope we can keep this bite going as long as possible.

I was worried for Sunday with more winds on the way, and it being peak fall dates, but we were able to hide from the pack. Fished alone all day and caught some absolute chunks. These 2 young men had quite the 6hr trip with me. Zach had his mom along, and she helped catch quite a few as well. Warm water, busy weekend, and pretty good wind made for a solid bite today. Thank you guys for helping me fill on short notice!

Im pretty sure we will be able to fish effectively well into the end of October this year. I will have some days available after Oct 20th. That time of year will make for good bass and walleye fishing.
