Honoring Topco's core value of building a culture of integrity, respect and social responsibility, several associates recently volunteered to participate in our first Adopt-a-Stream Cleanup of the year, collecting and removing 30 pounds of garbage at Songbird Slough - a 393-acre nature preserve in Itasca, Illinois.

Associates participate in the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County program twice a year as a way to play an active role in helping keep our communities clean. Over the past two years, associates have cleaned up more than 100 pounds of garbage at this site!

Each year The Shelby Report honors a select number of women for their Women of Influence award, recognizing women shaping the food industry. Among this year's recipients was Carla Rydberg, Topco Director of Category Management - Grocery Center Store, who was selected for her role in the Food Club brand redesign along with her ability to efficiently collaborate, ensuring that the Topco team is meeting the wants and needs of members' shoppers.

To maintain relationships with local universities, members of the Topco team regularly participate in strategic on-campus events. In alignment with this mission, Topco Talent Acquisition Manager Bryan Clement recently appeared on an Internship Panel at DePaul University, where he discussed best approaches for students as they transition into a professional environment while also highlighting key areas of growth within an internship.

Joining Bryan on the panel was Sean McLaughlin, last summer’s Category Management Intern and future Rotational Associate. The panel was moderated by Stephen Rothchild, who will be a Brand Management & Packaging Operations Intern this coming summer!

We are excited to share that Food Club has teamed up with DreamWorks Animation’s Gabby’s Dollhouse to introduce four new limited-edition products that will be in the stores of Topco member-owners.

The co-branded products - a first for the brand - include Food Club Breaded Chicken Nuggets featuring exclusive custom-made star, flower, heart and cat ears shapes; Food Club Confetti Cake Mix; Food Club Strawberry Frosting and Food Club Rainbow Rings Cereal. Additionally, the Gabby's Dollhouse and Sweet P's Bake Shop Pink Frosted Sugar Cookie will return to participating stores this spring. Products will be available in stores through October 31 or while supplies last.

As part of Topco’s commitment to supporting our community and making connections with higher education institutions, associate representatives hosted students pursuing master’s degrees from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management this past week.

Touring with Topco allowed the students to see their studies come to life in a professional environment, hearing from Topco leadership about their respective specialties, in addition to general Topco knowledge.

Topco is pleased to present the 2026 graduating class of its Leading From Every Seat (LFES) leadership development program.

Created in 2017 for Topco’s high-potential associates, the program looks at leadership education from a broader, more strategic perspective to teach how to influence, impact and lead within Topco. In partnership with Loyola professors and adjunct staff, the cohort went through a rigorous program that included topics ranging from The Art and Style of Leadership, Conflict Resolution and Accounting and Finance.

The associates recently presented their capstone project on how AI can be utilized in the future to better support Topco’s members by discussing the different types of AI, possible use cases and the importance of training and governance in implementation.

We are excited to share that the Hermes Creative Awards recently announced its 2026 winners, and Topco won a total of 4 awards in the international competition.

The Crav'n Flavor Snack by Track Experience with partner Chris Janson won a Platinum Award while three marketing partnership efforts - Food Club and A.J. McLean; Food Club Boy Band Bake-Off; and Gabby's Dollhouse and Sweet P's Bake Shop Tour - were honored with Gold Awards.

Congratulations to all Topco member-owners and the associates who worked on creating these campaigns and bringing them to life to engage member shoppers!

The event aligns with Topco's Core Value of creating a culture of integrity, respect and social responsibility, allowing the associates to give back to the community to prepare for future needs.

We're excited to share that Topco’s continued effort to provide its members with best-in-class solutions to support member shoppers was recently recognized by Progressive Grocer’s 2026 Editors’ Picks as the magazine selected four Topco Own Brand products among its list of best new products for the year.

Winners included Food Club Fully Cooked Bone-In Chicken Wings, Food Club Air Fryer Seasonings, Food Club Hot Honey Cheese Shreds and Tippy Toes Smoothie Melts.

We are proud to share Food Club's 80th Anniversary Celebration was recognized as a 2026 Game Changer in Innovation by Store Brands magazine.

Store Brands noted that Food Club utilized its 80th anniversary to “redefine the reach of private label.”

“By combining a massive portfolio redesign with high-profile cultural partnerships, the brand transitioned from a value-driven staple to a nationally recognized name, earning its place as a 2026 Store Brands Game Changer in the Innovation category,” the publication said.
