According to the Harvard Business Review, a diverse supplier is a business that is at least 51% owned and operated by a traditionally underrepresented or underserved group. Common examples include minority-owned enterprises (MBEs) and women-owned enterprises (WBEs).

Building a diverse supplier network is a crucial step in driving equity in the workforce to previously marginalized communities.

But it goes beyond that. The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) reported that MBEs generate $400 billion in U.S. economic output annually, which impacts job preservation, local and federal revenue, and general economic growth.

Currently, our expansive supplier network includes over 1,600 vendors and customers, many of which identify as MBEs, WBEs, or another classification. Ongweoweh stands with our partners in our commitment to diversity and hope to continue growing all of our communities together.
