Fur and Fly Outfitters Specializing in Bear hunting in Jackman, Maine. Offering hunt's over bait and with hound's. I have been bear hunting all my life. There is never a dull moment.

I offer a more personalized service because i take small groups each week. I only take a maximum of eight people per week when hunting over bait. Every hunter is guaranteed an active bait site that you will be hunting. You can either hunt out of a tree stand or a ground blind. When hunting over bait your hunt will be in the afternoon until dark. We will pick you up at dark and retrieve your bear

if you shot one. The people that can set longer i usually try to set them out first. The key to killing a bear over bait is setting still and being scent free. And setting till the last minute of shooting time is critical too. The last hour to thirty minutes before dark is your prime time to see a bear. HOUND HUNTING

Hound hunting is for the thrill seeking hunter. We go out early in the mornings and check baits. When we find a bait with a big track or a picture of a big bear on trail camera we will turn the dogs loose and the fun begins. We start out by turning a trail dog loose first to work the track out and then we send in the other dogs. I run my dogs year round so i have a good pack of bear hounds. We have a real high success rate with hounds 95%.

Exercising the old Coleman camp stove. Getting it ready to use to cook dinner during bear season while the hunters are out hunting. Cooking zucchini squash tonight on it with onion and egg in it . I got pork chops on the grill with barbecue sauce on them. Setting by the fire outside. Life ain't to bad.

We have some openings the second week of bear season in Jackman Maine. The last 4 years we have been a 100 percent the second week. Hunts are 6 full days hunting and lodging without meals. $1,900.00. We also have some hound hunting spots open to. $2,300.

Come visit us this weekend at the Dixie deer classic in Raleigh N.C. I have a show special going on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Book a group of four hunters and the 4th person is $500.00 off. This is for the second week of the season for bear over bait.
