EXAR Logistics team is looking to bring on a straight truck driver looking for the next step in their career. We are in a growth phase and are expanding our fleet. We are specifically seeking candidates that have 1 to 2 years last mile delivery experience. In-home white glove delivery of furniture & appliances is a plus.
Those applying would need to demonstrate excellent customer services skills, have a foundation of professional consistency & reliability. Applicants must be able to demonstrate decisioning and sound judgment in sub-optimal conditions.
Skills:
Can demonstrate a history of employment reliability
Can demonstrate examples of stick-to-it-ness & Gritt
Can demonstrate proficiency with customer facing engagements: verbal, written & non-verbal communication skills
Can demonstrate real-time problem solving and solutioning
Must have:
1 year straight truck driving (Non CDL or CDL)
At least 3 months of last mile delivery
DOT medical card
36 month clean/clear DOT abstract
Nice to have:
+2 years experience of in-home delivery of furniture or appliances
Working knowledge of DOT regulations & guidelines
Can demonstrate sufficient ability to drive a 6sp, manual transmission
Class B CDL
What does the day to day look like:
Currently, the average day is 10 to 12 hours from load-out to clean-out, though some days are shorter, and some days are long. The pace of work of the truck team, and quality of decisioning made during the route determine the routes duration. Work fast and make good decisions, and every shift will be ~8 hours.
The day is broken into two work modes, 8 to 15 moments of fast pace & hard work onsite delivery of mattresses and bed frames; generally 5 to 20 mins each, then a period of 6 to 8 hours of low effort regional driving.
A drivers performance is based on the following KPI's:
Departure on-time rate
Delivery on-time rate
Call ahead rate
Customer satisfaction survey score
Delivery completion success rate
To be successful in this role, the application will need to be on-time and create a positive delivery experience. Customer facing skills are necessary. Punctuality and reliability are necessary.
The applicant is eligible for a performance bonus based on meeting or exceeding KPIs.
