Mother Nature seems to have caught wind of one of our previous posts naming her as a person of interest and fully cooperated with us during in-service training for our personnel this week! We were able to utilize a house for several different firefighter training evolutions including simulated fire attack, searches, alternative entry, and emergency exit/bail-out scenarios. From there, our personnel transitioned to fi****ms qualifications at the range and review of defensive tactics as well as other law enforcement training topics in the classroom. Thank you to City of Jackson, MI Fire Department for allowing us to borrow some training equipment used in these evolutions.

Congratulations to Public Safety Officers Taylor Chalecki and Zachary Dutton on graduating the WCC Police Academy yesterday!

It was 18 weeks of hard work, long days, and sacrifice but it all paid off. We are incredibly proud of both of them and can’t wait to see all of the good they will do for the community!

Over the course of the last two days, Blackman-Leoni Public Safety personnel responded to a total of 181 incidents on the law enforcement side 🚔 as well as 57 fire/rescue🚒 incidents following storms that came through the area. Many of these incidents included hazards such as downed trees and wires, vehicle crashes, motorist assists, and alarms on top of other incidents. Our agency also assisted neighboring fire departments with multiple structure fires during this time.

Mother Nature is currently a person of interest in these matters and our officers would like to have a word with her if anyone has information regarding her whereabouts 🧐🕵🏻‍♂️👨🏻‍⚖️
