For your Sunday reading pleasure: A few bleated but well deserved compliments and "Thanks" for excellence in service, all local(ish) businesses:

A&L Trees, Aaron Losey. Trimmed about 200+ trees to prevent them from attacking me whilst mowing the lawn. Did a superlative job, fast and very reasonable.

Cedar Street Electronics. Fixed my TV which had gone mute and repaired my Harmon Kardon remote adding joy to our house! Quick, professional, reasonable. Ask for Al or Dave. Primo.

Petit Lanscaping and Lawn Care. Guy's quick, fair and a bloody artist. A bloody friggin' artist I tell ya! Don't believe me? Go to St. Catherines and check out the work he's done there. My go - to guy for everything lawn and garden.

Welcome Home Drywall and Painting. Debbie Mills. Another true mechanic and an artist to boot! Replaced my living room ceiling and painted the place. She rocks, just flat out rocks.

And of course Blossom Farms and the Shaded Wagon. Our community would be measurably poorer and less liveable without you guys in it!

Last: My neighbors the Railers and the Kessmans. Everybody needs neighbors like these. But these are MY neighbors, I got them first!

Concord is an amazing little metropolis full of excellent people. If you don't live here - you should. If you do, you should be more grateful! Gratitude is the fertile soil in which all good things grow.

In my (current) almost incessant daily reading, I've come across a great number of facts that dispell many common beliefs. These all pertain to the provision of law enforcement in our society and relevant beliefs many hold about it. I've taken the time to vet them all and deposit them here for your reading pleasure. Do with them as you will. They represent my opinions, and my opinions only.

In 2021, the latest year for which accurate figures are available, there were 73 uniformed Police Officers murdered by criminals in the line of duty. That same year, there were a total of 697,195 Police Officers employed throughout that same society which translates to 10 sworn Officers murdered per 100,000.

That same year, 2021, there were 8 (eight) unarmed black people shot and killed by Police in line of duty shootings out of a self identifying population of 47,000,000 blacks in our society. That translates to: 0.00001% or 1/100th of 1%. Any attempt at comparison between the two is foolhardy to the point of assininity.

These facts come from such sources as the FBI, Statista and the Washington Post, hardly bastions of conservative propaganda.

Currently, half of our society is stampeding to defund the police, retrain the police, redirect law enforcement resources, ignore the various permutations of "minor," "victimless" or "property" crimes and promoting prosecutorial discretion in refusing to try criminals for their malfeasance, all of which have the net effect of camouflaging the blame and redirecting responsibility; punishing the victims.

Personally, I'm fed up beyond the point of infuriation with all the counterfactual, counterintuitive, woke, critical-what-have-you efforts to remake our society into some sort of communist, collectivist cess pool where we all get to bow to our new masters: the illuminati, the elite and the radicals. I ain't gonna do it and neither should you. And let me leave you (for now) with this final thought:

It is absolutely impossible to right any wrong, cure andy ill or address any problem when you refuse to acknowledge it's root cause and those who perpetrate it.
