I was honored to be a panelist last week with Kim Causey, Chief of Staff & Counsel for MS Insurance Dept, at the MSU Insurance Day Conference. We provided a legislative update & answered questions regarding the 2026 Legislative Session. I appreciate how MSU Insurance & Ole Miss Insurance Programs work well together to bring outstanding young professionals into the insurance industry. Thanks for the opportunity Lee Harrell, Director of MSRB, although it’s real dedication for an Ole Miss gal to pose with that sign! 😉😊

We made it to the light at the end of the tunnel! The Mississippi Legislature adjourned the 2026 regular session (and there really is nothing regular about it!) this morning sine die! We missed our trusted associate, Ashley, for the end of session pic, but we are thankful for 2 great interns from Ole Miss who worked hard, had great attitudes & were very helpful to us. We wish them the best as they head to DC & law school. We also are grateful for our Capitol family & friends…and peace out!

Proud that CSGLG played a part in bringing this cool venue to downtown Pascagoula!

At the mouth of the Pascagoula River, the clanging of metal and the low hum of machinery still hang over a shipyard that has long shaped the identity of a Mississippi Coast city. But that’s beginning to change as an eclectic mix of new restaurants, boutiques and, most recently, a rooftop bar, begin to fill the streets lined with palm trees and acorn-style lights.

Housed in a former Hancock Whitney Bank that has been converted into a mixed-use development, this bar is among the businesses helping drive a shift in downtown Pascagoula.

It was an honor to serve as a panelist with my colleague and good friend, Clay Williams, Executive Director of Gulfport Biloxi International Airport. Governor Haley Barbour delivered a very moving account of the days leading up to, during and following Hurricane Katrina. He and the others who spoke emphasized the strength and determination of the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as the volunteerism and teamwork of Mississippians from all over the state and those around the country who responded immediately with help and support.

Great meeting today of the Gulf Coast Business Council at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. Thanks to special guests Speaker of the House Jason White, who delivered insightful and informative comments, and Speaker Pro Tem Manly Barton. Thanks to the Ingalls team and Jamie Miller of GCBC for being wonderful hosts showcasing the Coast and the resilience of its people as we remember Hurricane Katrina.
