We were thrilled to be a part of and share Mississippi's legislative and enforcement success stories at the 2026 Global Damage Prevention Summit in Nashville. The conference included some of the largest utilities, contractors and locators, 811 centers and underground facility policy makers from throughout the United States and abroad. As a bonus, former Mississippi 811 President Fred Johnson was named the 2025 National Damage Prevention Hero of the Year!

The Mississippi Trucking Association Annual Convention is always 2nd to none, but this one was extra special as we celebrated a phenomenal leader, Hal Miller, who has been a champion of trucking & of doing it right his whole career! I’m always so proud to represent the hardworking, good people of MTA who keep MS moving, and Hal will be sorely missed, but I have loved working with him! We had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of the Chandeleur Depot Brew Pub this evening! We are proud to have worked with City of Pascagoula, Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority, Mississippi Legislature and a great developer, Joe Cloyd in bringing this project to fruition. Joe had the vision, preserved the historical aspects of the Pascagoula Depot, and has created a beautiful, fun, vibrant space in downtown Goula! It’s a great example of public/private partnership. I was honored to be a panelist last week with Kim Causey, Chief of Staff & Counsel for MS Insurance Dept, at the MSU Insurance Day Conference. We provided a legislative update & answered questions regarding the 2026 Legislative Session. I appreciate how MSU Insurance & Ole Miss Insurance Programs work well together to bring outstanding young professionals into the insurance industry. We made it to the light at the end of the tunnel! The Mississippi Legislature adjourned the 2026 regular session (and there really is nothing regular about it!) this morning sine die! We missed our trusted associate, Ashley, for the end of session pic, but we are thankful for 2 great interns from Ole Miss who worked hard, had great attitudes & were very helpful to us. We wish them the best as they head to DC & law school. We also are grateful for our Capitol family & friends…and peace out!
