Today, Governor Tate Reeves signed the proclamation declaring October 2026 Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Mississippi, joined by MCADV CEO Lanisha Bell, Coalition staff, and members of our Board of Directors.

This recognition brings statewide attention to an issue that affects our families, workplaces, schools, and communities. It also honors the strength of survivors and the dedication of advocates and domestic violence programs working every day to help individuals and families find safety, support, and a path forward.

To every survivor: You are seen. You are believed. You are supported. You deserve safety and peace.

We thank Governor Reeves for recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month and helping bring visibility to the need for continued education, prevention, and survivor support across Mississippi.

Now, we encourage every Mississippian to turn awareness into action. 💜Wear purple to show your support. 💜Learn the signs of abuse. 💜Support your local domestic violence program. 💜Listen without judgment when someone shares their experience, and help connect them with resources while respecting their choices.
