At St. James Episcopal Church in Jackson, Mississippi, Phase One of our work centers around three windows installed within the Chapel of St. Mary in the early 2000s: The Presentation of Christ at the Temple, The Wedding at Cana, and the Sacred Heart.

Each window was designed and crafted at Pearl River Glass Studio using antique glass and acid etching techniques, combining symbolic imagery with rich color and intricate leaded design.

The Presentation of Christ at the Temple features white lilies, doves, and the Star of David, representing purity, peace, and devotion. The Wedding at Cana references Christ’s first miracle through flowing vessels and interlocking wedding bands woven throughout the composition. Sacred Heart reflects on the crucifixion through the imagery of the crown of thorns, the cross, and the piercing wound of Christ.

Together, these windows tell a larger story through light, symbolism, and sacred artistry, transforming the chapel into a space of reflection, reverence, and worship.

Color has a way of changing everything.

From soft morning light to bold bursts of glass in the studio, every piece we create is designed to bring more beauty, warmth, and wonder into everyday life. Stained glass doesn’t just fill a space with color, it transforms the way you experience it.

Adding a little more light, color, and creativity to the world, one piece at a time.

At Pearl River Glass Studio, our work begins with Consultation & Vision, where we listen closely to your space, story, and goals. From there, we move into Design & Drafting, shaping concepts into detailed plans that guide every decision ahead.

Next comes Glass Selection & Cutting, where color, texture, and light are carefully chosen and precisely cut. In the studio, each piece is brought together through Assembly & Leadwork, forming structure and rhythm within the design.

We then move into Soldering & Final Clean, refining every joint and finishing every surface so the work is ready to shine. Finally, Installation & Completion brings it all home, where the piece is set into place and comes fully to life in its intended space.

Every step matters. Every detail builds the story.

A vision of faith, past and future, brought to light.

In 2004, Pearl River Glass Studio had the honor of creating new stained glass for Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Natchez, a congregation with over 150 years of history and a forward-looking mission rooted in Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing.”

This window reflects that spirit. A blend of traditional stained glass techniques and modern design, it brings together kiln-formed elements—trees, robes, and sky—with rich cathedral glass to create depth and movement. Hand-painted details define the face and hands of Christ, while symbolic elements point to Alpha and Omega, sacrifice, triumph, and truth.

This project is also part of a long-standing partnership with , a collaboration that spans decades of shared work, from projects like this to more recent efforts such as the Mississippi State Capitol skylight restoration.

A window that honors where a church has been, while pointing toward what’s ahead.

Over the course of six years, Pearl River Glass Studio had the privilege of restoring the existing stained-glass windows at First Baptist Church Canton while also creating four new windows to join the collection, all designed to feel as though they had always belonged together.

The church’s original windows were already rich with beauty and history, and our team first encountered them in the late 1980s during an extensive restoration process. From sourcing and matching historic glass to replicating original painting techniques, every detail mattered. Much of the glass came from historic American manufacturers like Kokomo Opalescent Glass and Wissmach Glass Company, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The new windows, each standing approximately six feet tall, were carefully designed to complement the original border work and color palette while introducing painted imagery of John the Baptist, Moses, and Paul the Apostle.

And sometimes, creating timeless art requires a little creativity behind the scenes. When the perfect reference image couldn’t be found, the team became the models themselves...with Andy stepping in to pose for the Paul the Apostle window featured here.

Every window tells a story, and we’re honored to help preserve and continue this one.

We have the privilege of restoring pieces of the past, honoring the craftsmanship and artistry they were built with.

We traveled back in time just to make this reel....or at least that’s what it feels like. ⏳✨

At North Monroe Baptist Church in Louisiana, this large baptistry window was designed to immerse the sanctuary in movement, light, and meaning.

Centered on themes of the living water of the Holy Spirit, purification, new life, and the Jordan River as a symbol of God’s covenant, the window was created to flow visually from top to bottom, much like water itself. An artificial lightbox installed behind the piece allows the colors and movement to remain radiant throughout the day.

Crafted using traditional leaded stained glass techniques, every piece of glass was individually painted to help bring the design to life. Rather than following a highly controlled Western European painting style, this window embraces expressive brushwork and directional lead lines to create energy, motion, and depth. The result is a composition that feels alive, flowing with light and spirit across the sanctuary.
