We here at Henderson's Arena take biosecurity and the safety of our exhibitors very serious, it was brought to our attention last weekend that there is a active Strangles outbreak at a central Ohio Show Facility that also boards horses. We have been in contact with the owner of the facility and she has confirmed positive cases on her the Farm. We are aware that some people that go to events there also come to events at our place.
We spoke with Ohio State Veterinary Hospital this week, they also confirmed that there are multiple Strangles cases in central Ohio at this current time. We also talked to them about protecting our facility and those horses that will be coming to future events. They provided us with plan on how to protect our facility and those that attend events at Henderson's Arena.
So as of today March 20th 2026, we are putting restrictions on who can come to our facility. If you have been to Rodeo Run in Canal Wi******er in the last 45 days, you will not be allowed on our property for 45-60 days. This pertains to humans or horses. We will reevaluate things at the 45 day mark, to determine if there have been any additional positive cases. If there are additional cases this isolation will be extended. This was the recommendation from Ohio State to insure that we don't spread the infection. If we find out that someone has been to Rodeo Run and then comes to Henderson's Arena during this isolation period, the individuals will receive a lifetime ban from Henderson's Arena. Also if it is determined that you break this isolation and a contagion is brought to our facility, there will be legal action taken.
We at Henderson's arena take the safety and wellbeing of our customers very seriously. We want people to be able to come to our facility and not worry about biosecurity problems, that is why we have chosen to protect the exhibitors and animals. We apologize to those that this may effect for our future shows, but the safety of our own animals and those of the people that trust us to provide a safe place for people to exhibit their horses is our priority.
Thank you for the understanding in this matter,
Ben Drushal
